Storyboards

I'm re-falling in love with storyboards. I couldn't sleep last night so I played around designing a few. You don't even have to frame them, they look so great mounted on styrene and sitting on an easle. I'm going to have to order some up and show you the finished product.

Easter in December

No we're not celebrating Easter. I was looking for some photos in the deep dark recesses of my hard drive and I ran across a series of pictures of my little ladies from Easter. I don't know why they never made it to the blog but they are WAY to cute to hide away in a hard drive. They melted my heart, it was like a little Christmas surprise!

The Emmett Family #2

So my two best friends are both Emmett's, which kinda makes me an honorary Emmett...right?! Their kids think my kids are their cousins, which cracks us up. I love taking their family pictures every year, it's like seeing my own kids grow up through the lens. It's really hard for me to imagine where all the time has gone.

Sneak Peak

These two darlings were the best models I've had in a long time. They were happy and friendly and they didn't mind that I was sticking a big old camera in their faces. I cannot help but smile when I look at the pictures of this baby! She's just yummy! Take a look and see for yourself...

The Emmett Family

Taken in the pooring rain...ahhh, fall in the great northwest! The weather is really challenging me lately. I had to move the couch under a big tree in my yard to keep these guys dry. It was so dark at 10am that I had to bring out a studio light (covered with a garbage bag).

The Blacks

JoNae has been wanting to have family portraits done for awhile but we've never gotten around to setting a date and getting them done, until now. Pete's getting deployed and we had a 1 week window to work with. Thankfully the stars aligned, the rain stopped, and we were able to get some great shots. It only took keeping the kids out of school! Who needs school when family portraits are on the line?!

How in love with my back yard are you? I know I am! My poor husband is terrified that I'm going to want to keep it an overgrown weed patch. Maybe I'll give him half and I'll take the other. His side can be well manicured and lovely, mine will be overgrown with old bikes, a rusty truck, maybe even an old tractor? I can see it now...sigh, so beautiful. I tried to get him to let me have an old rusted out bus but I didn't win that one!

Carver Family

Isn't this family gorgeous!? Jen is the kindest, most genuine person I know. Every time I see her she gives me a compliment, it always makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside! The day we took these pictures...not so warm! It was bitter cold out but I think we all survived. I had 11 sessions that day and the Carvers were the first. They brought me some hot chocolate to keep me warm and it really helped, thanks guys!

Nelson Family

28 people...this is a large family portrait to the extreme. It was so much fun though. For as many kids as there were I was so happy with how well it went. We did the entire family, grandkids shot, individual families, all the kids individually, some sibling shots, couple shots, you name it...I took it. All of that in 1 hour! Thanks to my good friend and fellow photographer Sue for all her help. The kids were so well behaved and dang cute! I think that really says something about how great all these parents are!

Some of my favorites...
