The Best Husband...EVER!!!

My hubby surprised me Christmas morning with my long awaited, long drooled after camera. He bought me a Canon 5D with battery pack and I am still giddy with happiness! I had no idea, he completely surprised me. In fact he went as far as to lie to me. He called me from work and said he had some bad news. The Christmas bonus had come and it was only half the normal amount. He said he'd already bought my present thinking we'd get the full amount so there wouldn't be any left for me to use on him. I was furious!!! He had to warn his boss that I may call and raise heck, he told his boss to just play along. Rest assured, I did not call his boss. I just dipped into my photo business money to buy his Christmas presents. He on the other hand spent the bonus all on me and then some. He is SO good to me!

Yummy little newborn!

This little lady is only 6 days old. My photog friend Sue who works out of Kent called and asked me to come shoot with her today and I was happy to oblige. I LOVE to shoot newborns! Once you get them fast asleep you can mold them and shape them any which way you please. This little girls parents were game for anything and we got so many amazing shots. Just as we were done and the baby had here diaper on and was getting ready to go I had an idea. I asked Dad if he had any tattoos and he said he had two. Well of course I made him strip his shirt off and shoot a few more. Those turned out to be my favorites! Mom was hiding a little tattoo of her own so of course we had to get that shot as well.

Sneak Peek for Jaque

UM...WOW! Just started editing these and I love so many of them. Here's a few to get you started. Jaque, you can tell Darek that Alan thinks he really should learn how to smile. We've got a semi grin in a few of them but that's about it. Alan said he's going to pose for me with a big smile on his face so I can cut his head out and replace it where Dareks is. Don't worry, I told him that would just be creepy!

Hide your daughters!

Mom's hide your daughters. Make sure they're out of the room before you view this post. You wouldn't want them swooning and possibly fainting at the sight of these boys. Here's a few more of Tasha's future heart breakers!
P.S. Tasha's pregnant with her fifth and it's a girl. These boys are so excited, when they saw my Lula their eye's lit up. You can already tell how much they're going to love her. I can't wait to see how fiercely protective they are of their sister!
P.P.S. Tasha your gallery is ready to view on the website!

Tasha and her slew of boys!

I just finished proofing this shoot and have edited only one picture but I have to share it. This is seriously the first one in the series...AWESOME! Tasha was so worried that we wouldn't get anything good. Not due to my abilities, but due to the "mass" of boys situation! Honestly they were so much fun to shoot, we all had a great time! I'll post more later but here's a quick sneak peak.

Jen your album is ready!

Was that fast or what!!! I whipped these bad boys out and now I'm off to bed. Don't look at the time I posted this. Crap now you just looked. It's the only way to get all my work done, I just don't sleep. I'll get you your password to view the pictures tomorrow...or I guess today! Ok, now I'm officially delirious.

Christmas Cards

I've been really busy lately. Everyone is wanting that perfect picture for their Christmas cards. I've sold the copyright to a few pictures so clients can have their card made. Next year I plan to offer my own designs to clients instead of selling the copyright. I think it will work out less expensive for them. I'll work on them over the year so I have a good variety to offer. For now here's a peak at what kind of magic I can work! I designed cards for my two best friends Natalie and Nena, then one for my own family. The last two are being printed on a metallic paper so they will have a little shimmer to them. I can't wait to see how they turn out!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST...MY OWN LITTLE BEAUTIES!

Love this location

I wanted to get a few outdoor shots of the maternity shoot that I did. So the next day I took them out to a really cool...and a bit creapy location. The property is totally trashed and pretty nasty but there's some great little spots to take pictures. I didn't have much light left when we got there so I only snapped a few pictres. I'm hoping I'll get some more clients who are up for anything so I can try it out again. Paige, I just added these pictures onto you other gallery because there are only a few. Thanks for being up for my crazy idea!

Shooting Indoors

It's getting to cold outside to do a lot of shooting so I'm trying to get better at taking indoor pictures. I see all these photographers that are doing shoots in their clients home. I just can't figure out how they get such great shots without a flash. They obviously use natural light from windows but sheesh, I wish I had a bit more knowledge in this area. I'll have to start reading up. I attempted to use some light coming from the window in Tallula's room today and I think the pictures turned out pretty good. The problem is that as soon as I move her more than 2 feet from the window my lighting goes bad. I'm even using a really low aperature of 1.8 and I bumped my ISO up to 400. I hate to use a flash, it just looks terrible. Maybe I need to learn how to use it better. I'm showing you my weeknesses here, this just isn't one of my strong points. If you know me though, I'll research it to death and figure it out eventually! If you have insider information that will make my life easier than please...share.

Here's the shots near the window. The color versions are good but I really love the Black and White.

Here I moved her over to the bed and lost all my natural light. I had to use the flash and I'm not happy with the shadow and I miss the great catch lights in her eyes.

Loving Buckley...

My friend Natalie lives out in Enumclaw. She tipped me off to a great location near her in Buckley. It was a really great spot to do a shoot, I just wish it was closer. I told Alan (my hubby) that we need to move out to Buckley. Every time we drive out to my friends house in Enumclaw I can't stop my head from moving from side to side constantly. It's a curse us photographers face. We are always scouting new locations while driving. It's totally unsafe but I can't help myself. There's barns, feilds, old houses and brick walls out there waiting to be found and I'm determined to find them!

My friend Melissa and company!

This is Melissa and her beautiful family! We met back in college in Idaho over 12 years ago. She was my next door neighbor and we were both majoring in photography. It was a match made in heaven. Alas I was a slacker and I didn't stay in college long, I ran home and got married and started having babies. We lost touch. Low and behold Melissa marries a brillient man named Chris who plans to be a lawyer. They move to Washington so he can attend law school and we meet again! Melissa is an awsome photographer and has been a big part in my journey back to the camera. Here's a million pictures of her family because I can't narrow down my favorites!

Surrogate Cousins

We've been friends with these guys forever. My kids have grown up with these cutie pies. We really feel as though they're cousins more than just friends. My dear friend Nena is their mom and I'll throw in a picture of her so you can see how incredibly beautiful she is. She's also totally computer illiterate so she won't see this post at all. I'm pretty sure she doesn't even know how to turn a computer on! I'm doing their family pictures on Saturday so stay tuned.
